Editor’s Notes July 2016

I never dreamed that this would happen, but the timing is perfect. This is partly because of what I said before, about the role of the website, and my other plans in September, but also for another reason.

This version or Clicks started in 2011 and quickly gained a lot of writers who wanted to help out, had something to say, and wanted to teach us something. We won the big award in 2013 and again in 2015. The issues now are still full of information and help, but the average number of pages is down and there are less original articles being published. New blood may be a good thing.

In order to get the old Clicks where you can visit them on the new website, I have going over some old issues from 2011 and 2012, and it is amazing to see all of the literary activity that we had. There were several monthly authors and many occasional authors, with messages that are still appropriate today. I have talked to John Reed and Don Fraser and they have said to go ahead and use whatever we want. I have started with this issue and have two pages from different issues and one from one of Gerry Charms issues. The collage from the Mt. Dora trip is pretty cool. Only 10 years ago, and we looked so much younger One of Don’s articles, while the wrong time of year, presents a timely message. The list of all of the past presidents shows how many old friends that we still have in the club who are still part of the foundation.

The 2nd quarter digital competition results are in with the picture of the winners and the winners of the print competition. The actual prints will be in the next issue, at least all the ones that are sent to me from the winners. So far I have most of them.

The Beach Portrait outing happened yesterday, and I managed to get some candids in this issue, but the LPIG workshop isn’t until next Thursday, the 30th, so that will have to wait. The LPIG is always on the last Thursday of the month, so in August there will be reports from workshops for two months. Just for fun, at the last session I sat down in the model chair and said that I needed to have a new picture made to put on the new website and to put on the board page of Clicks. So, voila, I have a new picture.

If you have any remarks or suggestion, now is the time to sound off, because there will be a new generation taking over and comments are welcome.
