As the newly appointed JCC Education chair I have uploaded a post-processing questionnaire. It should take no more than 5 minutes to answer and will give us an idea of what the membership is looking for in the area of photographic education. After having reviewed the responses, I will probably post a follow-up questionnaire to narrow down the areas of member interest. This survey can be found on the NEW Education page. To access the page, log in to the website, click on Resources in the Member Menu, then on Education. You can also access the survey directly here: https://forms.gle/1rwC3CZ53Djjkt1L6
At our January meeting on January 20th Young McQueen was our meeting presenter and gave a very interesting talk on Color. In Young’s meeting report sent to members, he mentioned the reference notes and links from the program. In case some of us missed that here is a recap of those notes:
Some reference notes and links from the program:
- App (iOS and Android) for capturing the colors from an image: Adobe Capture
- Website/App on creating color harmonies from your phone: color.Adobe.com
- Lightroom/Photoshop instructor: Jesus Ramirez, Photoshop Training Channel (PTC) on YouTube
- Jesus’s tutorial on using the “Auto” function in Curves in Photoshop to adjust color. Note: Go to 24:00 in the tutor
I, for one, was unaware of the use of the “Auto” function in Curves and found the Jesus Ramirez tutorial extremely useful. But more importantly as Education Chair I will begin adding useful post-processing links to the JCC Education page. I hope that members will send me their favorite internet instructor links so we can develop a member approved post-processing link referral chart. I know that I have my favorite instructors and am always looking for new ones.I have found that it can be very useful to watch more than one explanation of a feature or process.
