Educational Opportunities
all this information with links can be found on the Education page
On the Education page there is a listing of online tutorials that have been curated by the Education Chair. The list contains 45 Tutorials going back to March 2021. The most recent was posted on November 2. To keep the Education page compact only the most recent 10 Tutorials listed are viewable on the page, but there is a Previous/Next button at the bottom to scroll through the entire list. The Main topics covered are Software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, PhotoPills; Photography such as Night Panoramas, Landscape, Wildlife; and Camera gear. One can sort the list in Alphabetical order by any of the column headings—just click on the heading name. Searching is also available if you are looking for a particular topic or Presenter. If any member knows or can recommend their favorite online tutorial, please drop me an email at tmetaksa@me.com and I will gladly add it to the list.
Adobe has announced updates for Photoshop, Bridge and Camera Raw. If you are on an Adobe subscription you can update by clicking on the Adobe symbol and it will take you to the Adobe update page. For a listing of all the new features you can find them on this page. Additionally there appears to be an update to Photoshop on the iPad as well. One of the interesting features that could be very helpful to anyone who is doing photo restoration is the new Photo Restoration Neural Filter, powered by AI, to restore your old and damaged family photos.
The Education Chair updates online classes as they become available. Listings of free classes have really become scarce as Adobe Max 2022 is now a memory. Currently there are some photography classes for both Sony and Nikon cameras between now and the end of the year.
The November 17 Meeting program
Dave Wholley gave an very interesting talk on shooting panoramas at the November 17 meeting. His basic thought was try shooting panoramas even if you are doing it handheld and shoot in a vertical format.
