Message from President Ted Floore regarding March meetings:
President Ted Floore announces that there will be a change in the second March meeting date. Instead of meeting on March 16th, we will have our meeting on March 23 at the usual time. At that time the T1 Print Competition results will be announced and the Judge will be present to deliver the comments. So make a note of our revised March meeting dates: March 2 and March 23.
Images for The Weekly
As was announced at the Jan 5 meeting I am looking for new images for the header of the Weekly. The image(s) should represent the purpose of Jacksonville Camera Club. As you can tell by looking at the above image, that concept was to show photographers taking photos. Depending on the response of the membership to this request, the new image(s) may be a collage, another relatively wide image or even a series of images changed during the year. I have set up a Google page for anyone to upload an image. When checking the link I found that sometimes it did Not work correctly. Got a few good ones, but still looking for more photos! Upload Here!

Kari Cook has joined JCC! Please welcome her at our next meeting.
She writes:
I love photographs – they are captured moments that preserve and spark memories! I received my first camera as a child and have taken photos ever since. When I traveled, my treasured souvenirs were my photos! (Pentax K-1000 with zoom & wide angle lenses) Later, I documented my three sons as they grew up using my Canon Powershot SD1200 IS Digital Elph. During COVID, I began taking cloud photographs with both the Canon and my iPhone during bike rides, helping me to “vacation in the sky.”
I work as an IMEP Facilitator for the St. Johns County Council on Aging. (Integrated Memory Enhancement Program). Our team provides brain integration, memory exercises and activities to help stave off the symptoms of cognitive decline associated with diseases like Alzheimer’s. I often take photos in our Fruit Cove location! I have much to learn and look forward to time with you all at this wonderful Jacksonville Camera Club!
Educational Opportunities
all this information with links can be found on the Education page
There will be another Photoshop Virtual Summit in April--The Photoshop Creativity Virtual Summit. It will be held April 17-20 and will be focused on using Photoshop in your creative projects. The list of teachers is impressive and there will be an Early Bird special price.
I have added a new tutorial from PhotoPills people. This is a PhotoPills for Beginners video. If you have never tried this app, this YouTube video is very useful. Depending on the platform you are using (Windows, Mac, Linux) you can find this app for sale on the appropriate app store. It is currently $10.99.
Also, Blake Rudis of f64 Academy has a new tutorial about using the color curves inside the curves adjustment. It is quite comprehensive and worth looking at. I personally don't think this is for Photoshop beginning users, but if you have used curves to adjust your images, I think you can handle it. The tutorial is quite comprehensive and explains the color theory behind adjusting color quite well.
