 Events Calendar

The next meeting is Thursday, March 5.

  • Program: Infrared photography with Byron Capo.
Artist Biography for Byron Capo:
With roots deep in St. Augustine and New Smyrna, FL, I grew up in the woods and around the water, with a passion for outdoor living. Later in life while
living in Orlando, a graduate of University of Central Florida, I picked up a camera and shot my first roll. Self taught, with some great mentors and
influencers like Clyde Butcher, I set off to craft a new passion, photography.

Since then I have used my talents as a professional architectural and landscape photographer. I have competed in numerous contests and even won the Jeanne
Trommel “Best In Show” award in the St. Augustine Art Association and numerous other winning images in the St. Augustine Camera Club and more recently
for the St. Johns County 200th anniversary photography contest. My work has been published in a variety of local and regional magazines and has been shown
in solo exhibitions and several galleries.

In 2017 I decided to take a new direction, into the alternative field of Infrared photography, which set me on a path to all things alternative, as it
relates to photography, whichincluded alternative printing processes. These days you will typically find me out exploring the wilds of North Florida with
a large format film camera or in my darkroom turning those images into Palladium or Silver Gelatin prints.
