Sunrise, St Augustine Pier, walking tour of less seen St Augustine

St Augustine Pier

We will shoot the rising sun from the pier and the area surrounding it.

The sun will rise at its most northerly position of the year with the summer solstice two days following. The more northerly position of the sunrise will offer different perspectives of a pier and sun image. We should finish no later than 8:30 AM.

We will then move to St. Augustine city for a walk through the less visited, and photogenic areas of the city.

Schedule of Events

We will meet at the pier entrance at 6 AM. Depending on cloud cover and any other weather circumstances, we should finish no later than 8:30 AM.

When we have finished at the pier we will move to the city and reconvene for a tour through parts of the city that are on the usual itinerary of guided tours. We can proceed as a group or individually if that is your preference. Expect that the walk and the areas to be visited will take about two hours.

Gear

Seascapes will likely be the primary focus best served with wide angle through short telephoto. There will be birding opportunities for longer telephotos. Also, the pier should have its usual contingent of people fishing and walking the pier that offers street scene possibilities. Polarizers, neutral density filters and tripods will be needed particularly for the sunrise.

The opportunities on the walk in the city will most likely be best serves with wide angle through short telephotos and / or zooms in the same range.
