The Sawmill Slough is a three-hundred acre natural area on the campus of the University of North Florida. The Sawmill Slough Preserve includes the original Sawmill Slough, a wetland habitat. In addition to the wetland, small areas of drier habitat including some longleaf pine-turkey oak woodlands may be found in the Preserve. The preserve trails present photo opportunities both for the native plants and animals associated with this north Florida habitat.
