Royal Tern Rookery at Huguenot Park

Royal tern sample
Of all the places in Florida to photograph shore birds, the Royal Tern rookery at Hugenot presents the opportunity to see at close range the behavior of the Tern offspring and their parents in getting food to them. These behavior antics present many ongoing and differing wildlife shooting opportunities.
The young, shortly after hatching congregate with each other on the beach in groups waiting for one of their parents to arrive with food they've pick up at sea. Both parent and offspring recognize each other and the dance begins to get away from the crowd for the feeding. The crowd follows looking to steal what they can. The parents steal also steal from each other.
Its a great opportunity to test you and your camera's high speed shooting capabilities.
