The Board met on February 24th. Several topics were discussed and you can find the meeting minutes on the website by clicking on Nexus/Club Documents/Minutes of Meetings. The most significant issues discussed were:
A) We discussed changing the annual award for the digital competition so that it would mirror the print competition. Right now the proposal the board is considering would be to have 3 categories with the numbers of winners in each category determined by the number of entries. As soon as the motion is voted on by the board, I will give a complete update on the website and in our meeting.
B) The board passed a motion to award one point for participation in Peoples Choice. We hope that this will help us increase the participation in our monthly Peoples Choice contests. This point will count towards the progressive awards for total points accumulated and awarded at the annual banquet. The point will not impact the Shutterbug award.
C) The board approved adding a new position Recruitment and Retention Chairperson. This appointment was a result of the vision shared in our January 3rd meeting. Don Dymer has agreed to accept this position. We will continue to update you on the areas we will work on to increase our membership and improve our experience.
We will continue to try and improve our communications related to board activities. We would appreciate any recommendations to help us achieve that goal.
