JACKSONVILLE CAMERA CLUB
MINUTES OF MEETING # 6 – MARCH 16, 2016
The second meeting of March 2016, was held at Shepherd of the Woods Retreat Center, 6595 Columbia Park Court, Jacksonville, FL 32258-2414.
Business Meeting
Gordon Ira, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Gordon Ira reviewed the dates for upcoming competitions and outings. He reported that he and Rick Hartmann went to the Viera Wetlands and photographed many birds.
Gordon Ira discussed the next meeting of the Lighting/Portrait Interest Group (LPIG) on March 30, at his home. He stated that tutorials on lighting are available on the internet.
Richard Bryce stated that the Zoo outing on March 19 may be moved to March 26, if there is heavy rain. Details will be provided in an upcoming email. He stated that members can enter the competition of zoo photographs, even if they are taken on a different date than the outing.
Jim Niss stated that the participants in the Callaway Gardens outing will get together for several group meals.
Charise Tanner gave out ribbons from previous Quarterly digital competitions, and spoke about the themes in upcoming digital competitions. She stated that when submitting images from a Club outing, the title should include the name and date of the outing.
Courtney Cox thanked the Club for the many photographs donated for the Salvation Army silent auction. She stated that the auction and luncheon is on March 31st. Club members interested in the luncheon can contact her.
Program at next meeting: On April 6 Dan Robusto will present a program on a trip to Africa. He presented a brief slide show from the trip, tonight.
People’s Choice Contest: Kim Pitcock was not present to present awards. The theme for April is: Anything Music Related.
50/50: Jan Gemeinhardt won $19.50 in the 50/50.

Program
The results of the 1st Quarter Print Competition were presented by Stephen Smith. The judge, Tammy McKinnley, was present, and commented on all the entries.
