JACKSONVILLE CAMERA CLUB
MINUTES OF MEETING # 22 – NOVEMBER 16, 2016
The second meeting of November 2016, was held at Shepherd of the Woods Retreat Center, 6595 Columbia Park Court, Jacksonville, FL 32258-2414.
Business Meeting
Gordon Ira, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Gordon Ira reviewed the dates for upcoming competitions, outings, and events.
Gordon Ira discussed the following:
— The F3C Digital 3rd Triannual competition is open until November 30th.
— A Swap meet sponsored by the St. Augustine Camera Club will be held on November 19th at the St Johns County Agricultural Center.
–The St. Augustine Nights of Lights Outing will be held on December 2; a leader is needed. Jan Vallely stated that she will plan on the group meeting for dinner, after photographing the lights.
–The Club Christmas Party will be held on December 10 at Bronwyn’s home. Sign up will be on the website. This will provide names for gate security. We can also sign up for food items on the web page.
–Donations of point and shoot cameras are still needed for a SOTW photo class.
— The LPIG will meet on November 30. Cole will be the model.
Young McQueen, webmaster, requested images to be considered for the Home page of the website. They should be sized at 1920 by 1080.
Julius Dean presented the following F3C print competition awards:
Julius Dean and Darrel Joseph, two Blue and one Yellow, Caroline Peppiatt and Chuck Shealy, a Blue and a Yellow, and one Yellow for: Jon Montigny, Jack Stephens, Don Dymer, and Marek Pawlowicz.
Julius passed out information on the F3C Conference in March 2017. Rick Sammon will be the keynote speaker; it will take place in Ft. Myers.
Lynda Smith reported on the Tricks or Trunks photo shoot at SOTW. She discussed the next church event, Legos with Santa, on December 3rd. This will be at the church’s southside location, and one or two additional volunteers are needed.
Craig Shier, incoming Vice President, requested program ideas, for several open meetings in 2017. He also stated that December 7th is the deadline for images from the Shenandoah Valley Outing. Members submitting images can also submit comments on their images, or comment when the program is presented.
Andrea Wilsie discussed the Annual Banquet on January 28th. She announced that there will be several raffles, with nice prizes.
Charise Tanner presented ribbons from previous Digital competitions, to Dan Robusto, Lynda Smith, and Jan Vallely. Charise also requested candid photos from outings and other Club activities; images from these Club activities will be shown at the Annual Banquet.
People’s Choice: Duffy McCoy presented certificates to the winners in the November contest; Phil Cope, Duffy McCoy, and Les Satz.
Program at next meeting: Bronwyn Horvath will present a program on a trip to Antarctica, on December 7th .
50/50: Dan Robusto won $27 in the 50/50.
Guests: Ben Turrell, and former member Chris Kemper visited tonight.
New Members: Teri Sherrod re-joined tonight.
Program: The results of the 4th Quarter Digital competition were presented. The judge, Ginger Sheridan, was present and commented on all images.
