JACKSONVILLE CAMERA CLUB
MINUTES OF MEETING # 18 – SEPTEMBER 21, 2016
The second meeting of September 2016, was held at Shepherd of the Woods Retreat Center, 6595 Columbia Park Court, Jacksonville, FL 32258-2414.
Business Meeting
Dennis Adams, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.
Dennis Adams reviewed the dates for upcoming competitions, outings, and events.
Dennis Adams discussed the following:
— The F3C print competition is open until October 5th.
–The Cracker Day Celebration Outing will be on October 15th.
–The Shenandoah Valley Outing is October 14 – 18th.
— The LPIG will meet on September 29th. Brian Leonard stated that models are scheduled for several future meetings.
Don Dymer discussed Club Logo shirts. The one selected last meeting is no longer available, so he will look at other options. A tee shirt with the Logo was shown. Don will continue to explore this project.
Young McQueen, Webmaster, stated that a tutorial and quiz regarding the Digital Competition are available. He stated that members can contact him by email if they are having any website issues.
Gail Means, Club Facebook Administrator, requested that members Like our Facebook posts. She announced a St. Augustine Camera Swap Meet and Photo Bazaar on October 22nd.
Charise Tanner presented ribbons from past Digital Competitions.
Andrea Wilsie, Banquet Chair, stated that the Annual Banquet will be on January 28, 2017, at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. There will be music and a raffle, with prizes.
Program at next meeting: The meeting on October 5th will be the results of the Monochrome Print competition.
People’s Choice Contest: Kim Pitcock presented certificates to this month’s winners: 3rd – John Neel, 2nd – Chuck Shealy, and 1st – Phil Cope.
50/50: Duffy McCoy won $18 in the 50/50.
Bragging Rights: Charise Tanner recently entered a PSA International Salon, and received two awards.
Guests: Steve Rondeau, Diane Brooks, Kathleen Spivey, and Bruce Hagstrom visited tonight.
New Members: New Member Diana Halstead was introduced tonight.
Program: The results of the 3rd Quarter Print Competition were presented tonight. The judge, Gary Whiting, was present and commented on the images.
