JACKSONVILLE CAMERA CLUB

MINUTES OF MEETING # 13 – JULY 6, 2016

The first meeting of July 2016, was held at Shepherd of the Woods Retreat Center, 6595 Columbia Park Court, Jacksonville, FL 32258-2414.

Gordon Ira, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Gordon Ira reviewed the dates for upcoming competitions, outings, and events.

Gordon Ira discussed the following:

–The LPIG will meet on July 27th. Two photos from the June meeting were on display. The meetings continue to be held at Gordon’s home.

— The Dean Editing outing will be held on July 23rd at 10 a.m., and the Still Life outing will be held on August 20th at 10 a.m.; both will be held at our meeting location.

— The August 3rd meeting will be a Sell, Buy, and Swap event. Members are encouraged to bring equipment they no longer need.

— Our Club may be able to develop a workshop on Judging, if there is enough interest.

— Jan Vallely requests additional Outing photos for the website.

Julius Dean presented a F3C Award to Chuck Shealy.

Young McQueen discussed the website. The new theme was launched on July 4th. At present, 39 members have registered on the website. There are various tutorials on the website; members are encouraged to view tutorials on Galleries.

Jim Jordan reminded members that dues need to be renewed at this time.

Program at next meeting: The July 20th program will be presented by Olis Garber.

People’s Choice Contest:   Kim Pitcock announced tonight’s winners: 3rd – Fred Raiford, 2nd – Phil Cope, and 1st – Tina Jordan. The theme next month is: Letters of the Alphabet. She reminded members that entries should be turned in by 6:45 p.m. on the night of the competition.

50/50: The 50/50 brought in $31.50 for the Club. Keith Garrett had the winning ticket.

Bragging Rights: None.

Guests:  Deborah Campbell, Tim Voorhees, and Stephanie Boiland visited tonight.

New Members: Former Club member Diane Rabideau-Wise joined the Club tonight.

Program:  Mark Pariani, Architectural and Design Photographer, presented the program.
