MINUTES OF MEETING # 9 – MAY 4, 2016
The first meeting of May 2016, was held at Shepherd of the Woods Retreat Center, 6595 Columbia Park Court, Jacksonville, FL 32258-2414.
Business Meeting
Gordon Ira, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Gordon Ira reviewed the dates for upcoming competitions, outings, and events.
Caroline Peppiatt spoke about the options for boat rides at the Okefenokee Outing.
Gordon Ira presented Chuck Shealy an award from the Glennie Nature Salon.
Gail Means thanked the Club for the cards and contacts, during her recent illness.
Richard Bryce announced that John Neel won first prize in the Zoo outing contest; his series of photos were shown.
Lynda Smith commented on the recent photo shoot for a church event.
Julius Dean discussed the submission of prints for the F3C 2nd Triannual Print Competition.
Charise Tanner presented Paula Griffin an award from a previous Digital Competition.
Jim Jordan, Treasurer, announced that individuals who join the Club during May and June will have memberships extended until August 2017.
Kim Pitcock announced that Brian Leonard is going to photograph the City Wide Prom at the Murray Hill theatre, on May 7th. Another photographer is needed for this event.
Program at next meeting: Jim Gutru, a Club member, will present the program on May 18th.
People’s Choice Contest: Kim Pitcock announced the winners: 3rd-Lynda Smith, 2nd– Richard Bryce, and 1st– Don Dymer. The theme was Weather. The theme next month is: Peaceful.
50/50: Fred Raiford won $22 in the 50/50.
Bragging Rights: Kim Pitcock stated that she was paid to photograph a birthday party.
Guests: Dave Whaley and Alan Locke visited tonight.
New Members: None.
Program: Doug Griffin, a videographer, presented the program on videography.
