JACKSONVILLE CAMERA CLUB

MINUTES OF MEETING # 8 – APRIL 20, 2016

The second meeting of April 2016, was held at Shepherd of the Woods Retreat Center, 6595 Columbia Park Court, Jacksonville, FL 32258-2414.

Business Meeting

Gordon Ira, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Gordon Ira reviewed the dates for upcoming competitions, outings, and events.

Gordon Ira stated that Jan Gemeinhardt is adding photos to the Club page on Facebook.

Jan Vallely commented on several outings, and also stated that she would like to have any additional photos from the Scottish Games sent to her, as soon as possible.

Richard Bryce stated that photos from the Zoo outing can still be submitted to him, by this Sunday.

Lynda Smith, Church Activity Coordinator, reported that she needs an additional volunteer to photograph this church’s 10th anniversary celebration, on April 30th, 5:30-8pm.

Bill Coppedge discussed the Alligator Farm Outing, to be held on May 7th. Interested participants can meet for breakfast at 7 a.m.

Julius Dean discussed details of the F3C 2nd Triannual Print Competition, which has a deadline of May 4th. A digital image of the photograph must be submitted, prior to submitting the actual print. Details are on the F3C website.

Jennifer Thompson reminded everyone that we now will have a sign in sheet, to record attendance. Members can sign in when they pick up their name badges.

Program at next meeting: Doug Griffin, a videographer, will present the program on May 4th.

People’s Choice Contest:   Kim Pitcock presented awards from the past two People’s Choice contests. The theme for May is Weather.

50/50:  There was no 50/50 tonight.

Bragging Rights: Kim Pitcock stated that she will be a photographer at the Taste of St. Augustine event.

Guests:  None.

New Members: None.

Program:  Mary Atwood, a local professional photographer, presented the program. She discussed her project of photographing historical sites in Florida. She has shown her work in several galleries, and has written a book about this project.
