JCC Meeting Minutes – January 3, 2018

Brian Leonard called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

Thanked nominating committee and the people that agreed to accept the positions for 2018.

Next program – January 17, 2018 – Chris Moore presentation “Looking Beyond the Camera”

Competitions – 1st quarter digital is open and goes until January 31st – the themes are General, Faces, and Water Reflection

Outings – January 13th and 14th – Mike Rexroad & Sylvia Greda-Kostin will be the leaders – WW Ranch Motocross, check out website and make sure you sign up so that your name can be given to the ticket person and you will be able to get in for $10.00 . Gordan gave directions on how to get to the Motocross site.

Announcement – Jacksonville Zoo with John Reed – John Neel will be the leader for this outing – approx. $30.00 and $ to get into the Zoo. Friday night, May 4, will meet at church and John Reed will give information on shooting at the Zoo. Saturday morning, May 5, will meet at Zoo around 7:30 a.m. John will get us in early to miss the rush of people. Will need to stay together so John can give instructions as needed. At the end will go to lunch to Trout River and be able to discuss and ask questions. Then on May 16th John Reed will critique some of the images that are submitted in their RAW format.

F3C Information – Julius Dean only had one blue ribbon left to be given out and that was to Browyn Horvath.
Digital Competition Info – All galleries – Digital, Print and Monochrome are on the website. Digital competition gallery includes judge commentary. Brian wanted to thank all those who put this together – still need digital copy of some of 2017 print winners.

Christmas Party – Brian gave a thank you to Browyn and Chris for hosting the Christmas party and also said that they will not be able to host 2018 Christmas party and ask for the club members to be thinking of hosting the party.

Annual Banquet – Will be on January 27th – go to website for Banquet Signup. Please register and submit payment. Need to start finalizing the count. If you have not attended you are missing a special and fun time. It is a great event to attend.

Young McQueen – go to website for digital competition which is open – it is the same way to submit images as last year but with a change there is no spreadsheet as was previous contests. Jan Valley will email/phone if you are successful or if you receive phone to help you submit. Banquet – Will Dickie will be the judge for the prints for the annual contest. Will speak about 20 minutes. Physical hard copies of sign-up sheets for banquet are available. Also, for new procedure on submitting prints. Gordan set up committee for digital entry for the prints. John Neel will be giving additional instructions on submitting your entries for prints when the it gets closer to turning in the images. Will still pay when you turn in your images. Clicks had its final monthly issue in December but Clicks Weekly is up and running.

Craig Shier – Glennie Saloon – photograhpy competition – need 10 images at least 2 per person so at least 5 people or any combination of images. Information on website under contests look for Glennie Saloon – images need to be nature, animals, birds, etc.. Also info on how much post-processing can be done to the image. Will be collecting images thru February 9th. Will get group together for selection of 10 images.

Raffle – Anita Fanic – collected $31.00 = $15.50 to club and $15.50 to winner of drawing.

 Library – try to revisit on how to get books, magazines, etc on the aspects of taking images
