Jacksonville Camera Club Meeting Minutes – August 18, 2021 – SOTW – 7:00 p.m.

Order: Young McQueen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

New Member/Visitor Recognition: Marcel Lecours that makes it 19 new members

Giveaway: two books plus – Leroy Sinclair and Charrise Tanner each won a book and Jeff Garbow won extension tubes for a Canon camera.

Health Check up: Bill McSherry – Young McQueen gave us some information that Bill McSherry is dealing with some serious health issues and that more than likely will not be returning to the club until after he gets back to good health.

Update on Moving Meeting Location: Young McQueen – the status of moving is still up in the air and we will continue to have our meetings at the church location until further notice.

Education Committee Chair: Tanya Metaska – Adobe Max is free on line in October 26th to 28th.

Print/mono Contest Update/Reminder: Tim/Ted – last night to submit prints for monochrome and results will be 2nd meeting of September.

Christmas Party Location: Need help in finding a location – if any member has a big house or if they have club house that can be used for the meeting please let one of the board members know.

People’s Choice Print Contest Results: Tina Jordan – General – 1st place Anita Fanic, 2nd place Karen Sirnick, Paula Griffin and Ted Floore tied for 3rd place. Please don’t forget to vote – September is Bokeh and October is Nature related.

Outings Update on West Coast Dark Night Outing/September?: Dave Wholey- Five people went on Outing in August – please submit some of your images. September 18th next outing is to Black Rock Beach – 6:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., then October will be at Payne’s Prairie.

Announcements/Comments: Open Call

Paula Esworthy did a short presentation with images and music to it to show what can be done with some of your images.

JPPG on August 24th at Ramada Inn at 7:00 p.m. at Flea Market and the club members where invited to attend.

Photography gear is being sold at an Estate Sale at Gordon’s at 9:00 a.m. on September 11th. Credit cards are now being accepted at the time of purchase. Look out for emails with the list of items being sold.
