Jacksonville Camera Club General Meeting Minutes

Call to Order

President Jim Angelo called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m..

Announcements from the President

-Next meetings: Oct 2 Zoom presentation “Photography for Conservation” by Soren Goldsmith (NatGeo); Oct 16 “Preserving Memories; Digital Restoration; ID’ing old photographs; A Geneological Diversion”

-Christmas Party will be held on December 18.

-The Annual Banquet is scheduled for February 7th, 2026 with Anita Fanic as Chair. It will be at the Ramada Inn, same location as last year. Jim Angelo announced that the ticket prices will be set at the next Board Meeting but likely to be in the $65-70 range.

-Winners of the most recent F3C competition were recognized. Karen Sirnick was recognized for winning the Florida Excellence in Photographic Art Award. Prior club winners are Lloyd Granat and Julius Dean.

-Shehzad Niazi, club member, will have a show of his photography  “ Moveable Feasts” at the  Jacksonville Airport with a Gallery Reception on Oct 23. More details in The Weekly

 

Membership and Social Media

Raffle 50/50

-$41 collected; $21 went to winner Silus Osborn, $20 went to the Club

Club Outings

-A ‘Downtown Jax Photo Walk’ will be led by Tim Davis on Sept 27 starting at 5pm. The walk will focus on Klutho designed buildings and a few non-Klutho buildings that are of note. See website for details.

-North Georgia, Unicoi Park ‘Fall Colors’ Nov 1-4; Rebecca Jannsen leading. See website for details.
