General Meeting Minutes

Date: January 4, 2024
President Ted Floore called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Ted stated that volunteers are needed to handle several Club duties: Print Competition Chair/Assistant Chair, Education Chair, editor for the Weekly, and Facebook Public Page manager.
Jim Jordan has volunteered to handle the 50/50 raffle. Anita Fanic will continue to handle our Member’s Only Facebook page.
Ted announced that there will be a Board meeting on January 25, at our current location.
Ted reported that the Beaches Photography Club may have a workshop in 2024 regarding lighting and models. Contact Ted for details.
Ted passed out a 2024 schedule for all our meetings and activities.
Ted discussed a meeting with the church administrative staff regarding our meeting room. They are not planning on replacing the projector or installing a screen in our meeting room. They are requesting that we take photos at their October Fall Festival.
Rebecca Janssen reported that Doug Griffin has conveyed his appreciation for the card and concern shown for him, by Club members. She also reported that Rick Hartmann is having difficulty with both vision and hearing.
George Hoskins, Secretary, informed the Club that the minutes of General Meetings are now on the website. They can be found by logging in, going to Nexus and then to Club Documents. Shaun Argus volunteered to be Acting Secretary for Minutes, in George’s absence from any meetings.
Raffle 50/50: $10 went to the Club and to Ted Floore.

New Members – Jim Angelo and Kim Hubbard.
People’s Choice – is taking place tonight with the theme of General. The December winners were: First, Richard Wallace, Second, Charise Tanner, Third, Anita Fanic.
Anita Fanic announced that the Annual Banquet will be on February 10, 2024. Volunteers are needed. Registration and payment information is on the website. The cost will increase from $45 to $50 on January 14.
Anita announced that the next outing will be the Asian Lanterns exhibit at the Jacksonville Zoo, on the evening of January 13 at 5:45 pm. We can sign up on our website and purchase tickets on the Zoo website.
There will be an outing on January 27 at the Hoggetown Medieval Faire, in Depot Park, Gainesville. Details and signup are on our website.
Program Bill McSherry discussed autobracketing and HDR. Robert Clark discussed the use of film in photography.
