General Meeting Minutes

President Ted Floore called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Microphones are not working tonight.
Ted announced that the Annual Banquet will be on February 10, 2024. Registration and payment information is on the website.
People’s Choice – PC is taking place tonight and the theme is Nature.
Volunteers are needed for: Vice President /Programs, Print Competition Assistant Chair, Education Chair, and editor for the Weekly.
Jenn Samsel had photos of the Keystone Heights Christmas Parade published in the newspaper. Jenn uses her phone camera successfully.
Ted announced that there was a Board meeting on January 25, with representatives from the Beaches Photography Club (BPC). The members of the two Clubs will be informed of each other’outings in the future. This is a good opportunity for taking photos as well as to meet other photographers. The Board discussed having all members sign a liability waiver. This is particularly important for outings participation.
Brian Leonard is collecting prints for our first competition this year. He will also collect at the next meeting. Brian stated that if you enter prints, you must also submit digital images of them by Feb 15.
The themes for the first digital competition are General, Sun and/or sky, and Human Portrait of One Person. Digital competitions are a great way for newer members to begin participating in competitions.
George Hoskins reported that he visited Rick and Dee Hartmann. The card and notes to them were appreciated.
Raffle 50/50: $23 went to the Club and to Brian Leonard.

Anita Fanic discussed outings and activities. The Olustee reenactment will be February 16 – 18. The Scottish Games and Festival will be in Clay County, February 24th. A Celtic Festival will be in St. Augustine March 9-10. She reminded members that there are Outings Galleries on our website.
Program Craig Shier presented “What’s the Story” in which he discussed and illustrated the many elements of stories that can be found in our photographs.
Ted announced that at the February 15 meeting we will discuss program ideas for the rest of the year.
