Ted Floore made a motion to approve the Minutes of the June 13, 2024 Board Meeting. Peter seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Ted Floore reminded the Officers to meet with and conduct a hand off of duties to the incoming 2025 Officers.
Young McQueen referred to the discussion in the June meeting of an honorarium for Sharon Farmer. He has not received the $50 contributions from the Beaches and St. Augustine Clubs. Ted stated that he expects the Beaches Club to make this contribution, but the St. Augustine Club did not participate in the program and will not contribute.
Young McQueen gave a treasurer’s report describing revenue and expenses January through October 2024. He noted that there have been increased expenses this year, in part related to program speakers and competition judges. He stated that in December he will redeem the smaller of the two CDs (approximately $2000) and deposit it in the checking account. The larger Club CD will be rolled over.
Young McQueen made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented. Ted seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Ted Floore reported that he has met with admin staff of SOTW. He informed them that there was a plan for the Club to make a donation to SOTW but that it had not yet been carried out. He did not give them a specific amount. Board members discussed various opinions about this.
Dave Wholey made a motion that the Club make a $200 donation to the Shepherd of the Woods Church. Young McQueen seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Board members acknowledged that this motion rescinded a motion that was made and passed during the June 13 meeting. That motion is stated here: “Ted Floore made a motion that the Club make a $500 donation to the Shepherd of the Woods Church. Tina seconded the motion and it passed, with one member abstaining.”
Young McQueen made a motion to set a budget of $80 for the Club Christmas Social supplies. Ted Floore seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Anita Fanic stated that she will purchase these supplies.
Peter Fitzpatrick reported that the Club presently has 83 members and that 17 people have joined in 2024.
Young McQueen discussed the goals of the Ad Hoc Committee that is reviewing the Club ByLaws and Constitution. He stated that work on this will continue into 2025.
Ted Floore discussed a message from Charise Tanner regarding competitions in 2025. Possible changes could include reducing the number of competitions and adjusting the scheduling of competition results programs. Board members agreed that these ideas have merit and should be considered.
The meeting was adjourned at 9 pm.
Respectfully Submitted
George Hoskins, Secretary
