Editor's Notes January 2016
Sixty people were at Bronwyn and Kris's house for an outstanding Christmas Party. Bronwyn did an amazing job in spite of a lot of other things going on in her life. Silas and Phil got some good candids of the group on pages 5 and 6.
It's early on Christmas Eve and our house is quiet now, but in awhile, with three kids and their wives with us for a few days, there will be a lot of laughter and delightful smells from the kitchen. There will also be help for me with a lot of projects that my boys are really good at.
Tonight is a full moon, but I just looked at the forecast and it's predicted to be cloudy. Happens every time!
Starting with the next issue I'll have another column to keep you all up to date with happenings in the club with a monthly president's report. To start things off on January 6, the first meeting of the year, (and next week) I'll give the program which I'm calling "Gordon's Vision". It will set the tone for the whole year and I hope that there will be a lot of people joining me there to get the year started.
I will cover a lot of things. First, in order for everyone to know who the folks are that are running the club, I will introduce everyone that has a position that might be able to answer your questions when you have them. I might even dream up some new positions, and will ask for some to fill others.
Then we are going to talk about things that are going to happen. Some things are already planned, but need to be approved, and other things are projects and thoughts about finding more ways for us to learn, and ways to direct that effort in a way that will be exciting for the membership, and possibly provide ways for us to spread out into the community more than we have.
It's really a little ambitious, and for this reason, I want to bring everybody in to the planning at the beginning, so everyone that in interested has a chance to know what's going on and what's on the table. I'd like to get all the feedback I can, and get as many people involved as I can. This will make us a stronger and more vibrant club, and we can have bigger parties!
