More than 2,000 demonstrators will present living history impressions of military and civilian life at the time of Florida's largest Civil War battle. Full-scale artillery, mounted cavalry and three Black regiments took part in the battle that ended with 2,807 casualties and a Confederate victory.
- Civil War era battle reenactment begins at 1:30 p.m.
- Period music concerts and crafts, lectures, battlefield surgical practices, and the lives of both white and black civilians during the war will be portrayed by re-enactors.
- Military camps and drills by infantry and artillery are scheduled throughout the weekend with color ceremonies.
The event presents unlimited photo opportunities for photographers of all ages and skill levels. The color and pageantry are evident on both days with battle reenactments both days.

Parking Info - Public parking is NOT allowed along US 90, at or close to the battlefield, with the exception of persons with a disability placard.
NOTE PARKING CHANGES!
All persons attending the event will be required to park at the Dowling Training center parking lot 1.5 miles EAST of the Battlefield at 20706 U.S. 90, Sanderson FL directly across from the Baker County Correctional Institutional. FREE bus shuttle service is provided to the main entrance of the event. Shuttle service to and from the lot will operate throughout the event. No shuttle buses will operate west of the Battlefield.
Entrance Info - Given the scope and schedule of activities there is no formal planned meet up for members planning to attend. It is suggested that if you plan to attend check the member attendance sheet on the outings post for members that you can individually plan meet up or carpool arrangements.

Gear
This event encompasses a large area and allows for a extended walks to cover many of the presentation areas. Wheeled gear bags, back packs, are in order here. while refreshments are readily available, carrying water and snacks is recommended. The area is both open and wooded in area so sun and bug protection is recommended.
Telephoto lenses are in order here. Choose your lens / lenses to keep your pack as light as possible. You can use a Tri or Bi pod if you wish but lighting should be adequate to not need them.
Other Tips
Handicap parking at or near the main entrance is available for vehicles with handicap placards. NOTE, these spaces fill quickly, the earlier you arrive will enhance your chance to get a space.
NOTE! No pets are allowed on the grounds during the event.
