Afternoon and Sunset Cruise, Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

Sunset 2 copy

With it's varied habitats, the Okefenokee has become an area known for its abundance of plants and animals that presents ample photo opportunities.

The boat, as a shooting platform, allows many different perspectives for both wildlife and landscape shooting through the various areas and the different lighting presented in each as the sun sets.

The shot opportunities are constantly changing throughout the cruise.

Gear

Shooting opportunities will call for lens selection ranging from wide angle up through 400 mm and higher lenses.

Being on water you may want to have a polarizer with you. Shots later in the trip can use ND filters, not necessary, but can help sunset shooting.

Tripods are not usable on the boat due to tight spaces, but would be usable if you choose to arrive early for shooting on the trails.

.

Other Tip

Bring a light jacket or sweater as it will cool down after sunset particularly on the water in a moving boat.

Oh, and bug spray, we're in a real swamp
