Call to Order
President Jim Angelo called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m..
Announcements from the President
-Next meetings: Sept 18 Zoom presentation “Blue Hour” by Josh Hauge; Oct 2 Zoom presentation “Photography for Conservation” by Soren Goldsmith (NatGeo)
-An Executive Board meeting was held Aug 28 at which a Nominating Committee was selected. Members include Peter Fitzpatrick, Charise Tanner, Ted Floore, Tina Jordan and Craig Shier. Membership approved the Committee without any additions.
Tina Jorden has volunteered to Chair the Christmas Party. It will be held on December 18.
The Annual Banquet is scheduled for February7th, 2026 with Anita Fanic as Chair. It will be at the Ramada Inn, same location as last year. Jim Angelo informed members that the Banquet was been running a deficit of about $1000 for the last few years, which is not sustainable. Ticket prices will need to be increased. More details will be announced at a later date.
-Winners of the most recent F3C competition were recognized.
-A request has come in for a photographer to attend the “We Can Be Heros” Constitution Day luncheon honoring Veterans and First Responders at VyStar Memorial Arena, Duval Room from 1130am to 2pm. They want a group photo and anything else the photographer might like to capture. Contact Beth Heath 904 705-6439.
-Shehzad Niazi, club member, will have a show of his photography “ Moveable Feasts” at the Jacksonville Airport with a Gallery Reception on Oct 23. More details in The Weekly
Membership and Social Media
-No new members or visitors tonight. Sonia Grutter announced that she intends to take photos during meetings to post on our social media pages. She asked that if any members did not want to be in photos to let her know.
Raffle 50/50
-$36 collected; $18 went to winner Jim Angelo, $18 went to the Club
Club Outings
-A ‘Downtown Jax Photo Walk’ will be led by Tim Davis on Sept 27 starting at 5pm. The walk will focus on Klutho designed buildings and a few non-Klutho buildings that are of note. See website for details.
-North Georgia, Unicoi Park ‘Fall Colors’ Nov 1-4; Rebecca Jannsen leading. See website for details.
