Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this park demonstrates the evolution of Florida farming from the 1850s to the mid-1940s-through three generations of the Dudley family. An authentic working farm, the homestead consists of 18 buildings, including the family farmhouse with original furnishings, an 1880s kitchen outbuilding, a general store and post office, and a functional cane syrup complex. Park staff in period clothing perform daily chores, raise crops and tend to livestock. The farm features seasonal cane grindings, corn shuckings and heritage varieties of livestock and plants. Deer, wild turkeys, gopher tortoises and bluebirds are still seen in the fields.

There is a $5 per car entrance fee (fee envelopes and deposit box located at entrance to free parking lot). Bathrooms are located near the parking area as are picnic tables and the gift shop where water may be purchased.
It is a pleasant 400 yard walk from the parking area to the homestead (turn on left path after restrooms). Carts pull easily on the path.Tram transportation to the homestead is available upon request.

WHAT  EQUIPMENT  SHOULD  I  BRING ?

Dudley offers a wide variety of subjects, using macro to long zoom lens; indoor using available window light and flash to landscapes.  A variety of lenses and a tripod are advised.

A hat, sunscreen and water are good to carry.  Light painting on some indoor areas such as the general store would be interesting.
