Jacksonville Camera Club General Meeting Minutes

Date: November 21, 2024

President Ted Floore called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Craig Shier gave a website update, reporting that the site was down for a few days and there is now a new host. If members have any issues, contact Craig.

Ted announced that members should renew their dues at this time. A few members have reported some difficulty renewing on line.

Ted discussed the recent Board meeting. The Board discussed the increased costs to operate the Club this year. More presenters and judges are expecting honorariums. In future Board meetings there will be discussion of ways to deal with these changes.

Ted announced that he would like to have nominations for the annual Presidents Service Award. Any member can submit the name of a member who is deserving on this award, for their contributions to the Club. There is information about this on the website.

Ted mentioned that Colors of the Wild at the zoo is a good photo opportunity.

Anita Fanic announced an outing to Deck the Chairs at Jax Beach, on December 7 at 430 pm. She also discussed the Dec 19 Holiday social. Members are encouraged to go on our website and sign up for the food item they will bring. Members can also submit favorite images from the year to be shown as a slide show.

Anita stated that there will be one meeting in January, on the 16th. She discussed the Banquet on February 1st, the cost is $50 per person.

People’s Choice – The November awards were: 1st-Karen Sirnick, 2nd– Jim Angelo, 3rd– Anita Fanic.

Raffle 50/50: $14 was collected; $7 went to the Club and $7 went to a member.

Visitors / New Members – New member John Martin was introduced.

Program  – The program was a zoom presentation by Jennifer Dooley, on “My Multiple Exposure Evolution”. She gave detailed information on multiple exposures, with a slide show of many images.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
