Jacksonville Camera Club General Meeting Minutes Shepherd of the Woods, 7860 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32256 Date: March 7, 2024
President Ted Floore called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Ted showed an image of the Friendship Fountain in Jacksonville and discussed this photo opportunity.
Ted presented Julius Dean with the updated Shutterbug Award plaque for 2023.
Ted thanked all the members who offered program suggestions at the last meeting.
People’s Choice – Is taking place tonight with the theme of Non Flower Close Up. The themes for the rest of the year are on our website.
The next meeting will be on March 28th (4th Thursday) and the program will be print results.
Volunteers are needed for: Vice President /Programs and editor for the Weekly.
The themes for the first digital competition are General, Sun and/or sky, and Human Portrait of One Person. This competition is now open.
Raffle 50/50: $13 went to Bill McSherry and $12 went to the Club.

George Hoskins, Secretary, presented Lloyd Granat with the Level 5 Progressive Award for 2023. George discussed points for attending our Outings. Members should sign up for Outings on the website prior to the event. If you attend an outing without signing up, please inform George, Dave, or Anita.
Dave Wholey and Anita Fanic both discussed outings and activities. A Celtic Festival will be in St. Augustine March 9-10. There are several good outings coming up between now and June. Details and sign up for all of them are on the website. Anita discussed details of the Okefenokee outing on March 23rd. Sign up needs to be done right away so that boat reservations can be made.
Program Club member Mark Hodgson presented the program, Bird Photography, Beyond the Basics. Mark presented excellent slides with detailed tips on bird locations and techniques, and a selection of his bird images. He discussed the website ebird.org as a source of valuable information.
