Jacksonville Architecture Outing – Walking Tour Supplementary Information

On 13 October, at 3pm, we will meet on the steps of Jacksonville Landing opposite Laura Street. There is plenty of free on-street parking in the area. There is also a parking garage next to the Landing under the Main Street bridge.

We’ll move slowly to allow time to look for subject matter.

Our approximate route is as follows.

  1. Head North on Laura Street toward Hemming Place
  2. East on Monroe
  3. South on Newman
  4. West on Bay and return to Jax Landing

This route covers a lot of the historic area that was rebuilt after the fire of 1901. The modern high rise buildings are also nearby and offer interesting opportunities for photos.

Folks may wander as they please. We can take as much time as folks like but will plan for about 2 hours.

Recommended Equipment: Medium wide angle to medium telephoto. Tripods are not necessary for this portion of the outing.

The subject matter is highly varied. The following iPhone images were taken on or near the planned route.
