PRESIDENT COMMENTS – Contest comments – Rules on entering digital and print contest in the same quarter. Need to be aware that if you won in digital example honor and then in print 1st place you would lose out on the first place award because once you win with one image can not win in any other quarterly contest.
OUTINGS – Mike Rexroad – Savannah, Outing Leader Role – Kept you updated with emails on the outing to Savannah.
Outings leader that they are going to the event and that they record the people that attended the outing.
WEBSITE – Young McQueen – nothing
NEXT MEETING PROGRAM – Bill McSherry – Blind Critique – April 18th – There will be instructions via email blast on uploading digital images. Three prints they do not need to be matted. Need to be between 8×10 – 16×20. Put name and title on back of print. There is no time limit on when the image was taken but this is basically for those images that you may want to submit in competitions. The three judges are Paula Griffin, Charise Tanner and Young McQueen. If you are turning in prints please be at the meeting before 7:00 p.m. to check them in. Looking forward to have some good images.
SOTW – Brian announced that the church was going to have an event on April 14th “Fun Run” and wanted to let the members know so that if anyone is available to come out and take some pictures. Brian said that he will be contacting the church for additional information and will send all the information in an email. So be thinking about it.
NEW MEMBERS AND VISITORS – Jennifer Thompson – Danny McIntyre and his wife joined tonight
PRINT REQUIREMENTS – John Neel – John talked about turning in prints – go to website to look up print requirements. The image needs to have a backing but mat is not required and the label needs to be in the left hand corner of image. Will be collecting prints in May. He will also be bringing some labels for use if any members needs them for their prints. Will be working on how to on websiste, with Young McQueen, on how to upload digital and print images on the website.
Please check out the rules on prints especially on nature images and read them as to what is acceptable. Bands on birds are allowed. Can’t take out phone lines or put in flying bird. Cropping, burning, dodging are acceptable.
