JACKSONVILLE CAMERA CLUB MEETING MINUTES – March 7, 2018 – SOTW

Brian Leonard opened meeting at 7:00 p.m.

First Order of Business:

UPDATE OF DIGITAL OR PRINT COMPETITIONS – 2nd quarter digital is open until the end of March.

Update on Board Meeting – Annual Digital Awards – 3 different categories – 1st – 4th place and Honorable Mention and categories A,B,C to equalizing two competitions. Nothing will change as to the uploading of images.

People’s Choice change – Beginning with 1st meeting in April will get 1 participation point – will not go towards Shutterbug but will go toward Cumulative Lifetime points.

Don Dymer – will head up committee for Recruitment and Retention Chair – for club to get new members. Will be asking for volunteers and feedback.

Don Dymer said that to target the younger people to come and join the club. Would like the committee to come up with suggestions on the getting our club name out there.

WEBSITE – Young McQueen had no updates

OUTINGS – Celtic in St. Augustine at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday – Register on line and also buy ticket.

NEW MEMBERS AND VISITORS – Dan McIntyre read about the meeting in the Times Union

RAFFLE-Anita Fanic – $56.00 dollars – $28.00 to club and $28.00 to Barbara

Charise Tanner ask a question about her new camera – using the GPS – Keith Garrett told her that the GPS is great to let you know where you were standing.

Courtney Cox thanked the members for their donations to the Salvation Army.

Member put out there about a carbine tripod to anyone that needs one.
